Architectural, Engineering, & Construction (In-Person) Forum - 240312"Aerial Photography, an Essential Tool for Construction Planning and Management" present by William Brown III, PMP, EIT, Owner/CEO at Plan View Drone Aerials, LLCThe PMI Atlanta AEC Forum is a focus group that hosts regular events with ranging topics in the architectural, engineering, and construction fields. We will show the importance of solid project management in these related fields of study. Presentation Details
What is the use for a drone in the AEC industries? Consider the following tasks: mass-grading, surveying, and mapping, pre- and post-construction documentation, bridge construction and subsequent maintenance inspections, and inspections of building facades. Now, consider these questions: can these sites be difficult to access safely and efficiently on foot or vehicle? Will the ground-level vantage point provide the best perspective? Will documenting work during its performance interfere with the work? We are aware of the physical limitations of performing all field documentation tasks from the ground. These situations, are best suited to aerial photography and data collection. During this presentation, William Brown will outline when and how to develop a drone program, and how to integrate their use as a regular part of the project schedule. Join us as we learn more about this efficient, cost-effective method to take your projects to new heights. |

Clinical Research (Virtual) Forum - 240314“Why 65% of Project Executions Fail & How to Mitigate Costly Pitfalls” presented by Marcia Brown-Rayford, Vice President, Global Life Sciences and R&D Leader at RGPThe Clinical Research Forum provides value to the PMI Atlanta community by regularly discussing the various aspects of clinical trial projects with special focus on the need to anticipate, understand, and implement detailed project management activities in a proactive manner for clinical trials in the pharmaceutical industry. Presentation Details
Whether focusing on clinical trials operations or leveraging generative AI to analyze real-world clinical data, life sciences companies often lack the fundamentals of project execution. Without effective project management quarterbacking, an alarming number of critical projects will continue to encounter costly failures, eroding productivity and affecting R&D pipeline performance. During this virtual forum event, we will identify five leading culprits to project failure and provide solutions and recommendations to equip you to excel in the new project execution environment. |
